About LBC
Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington, TX was founded in 1982 and is firmly committed to biblical theology, expositional preaching, and meaningful membership. Lamar is elder-led, with the Lead Pastor being the only standing elder. The congregation approves major changes as outlined in our Constitution & Bylaws. LBC has three language groups who are part of the church—English, Spanish, and Zo (a Burmese dialect). These three language groups worship separately and preach the same text each Sunday most weeks of the year. The children’s ministry and student ministry are 100% integrated.
LBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and Tarrant Baptist Association, and is dually aligned with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
About North Arlington
Arlington is a city with 400k+ residents directly between Dallas and Fort Worth. There are 52 elementary, 13 junior high, and 10 high schools. It is very diverse ethnically, culturally, socio-economically, and religiously. It is home to the University of Texas at Arlington, General Motors, Texas Health Resources, the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Arlington Renegades, Six Flags over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor (waterpark).
Lamar’s church campus is located near the intersection of Interstate 30 and Cooper St. at 1000 West Lamar Blvd, across from Kroger, and next to Walgreens near Lamar High School. North Arlington, especially the neighborhoods near LBC, is a busy, safe, and great area to raise a family. There are many nearby community amenities, like River Legacy Parks, North Arlington Little League, and Elzie Odom Community Center. There is great opportunity to reach the residents of this area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Job Overview
The Lead Pastor serves as equal member of the Elder Team, as the primary teacher and vision-caster for the church, and as the staff administrator. He and the Elder Team lead and shepherd the church.
Candidate Qualifications
Education: MDiv Required.
Experience: 10+ years of full-time ministry experience preferred, Lead Pastor experience preferred, experience overseeing church staff preferred.
Theology: Must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, the Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality, and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (links to these can be found at lamarbaptist.org/statements).
Salary & Benefits
Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and includes health insurance (for employee, spouse, and dependents), 5% annuity (up to another 5% matched), AD&D, and ministry expenses.
