Ryan started at Lamar as Lead Pastor in 2019. After growing up in Wichita Falls and graduating from Iowa Park High School, he studied Music at TCU where he met his bride. Lauryn grew up in Arlington, graduated from Seguin High School, studied music at TCU, and worked as a band director in Ennis, TX. Both Ryan and Lauryn have roots in DFW, and most recently served also in the Kansas City area.
Ryan’s passion, first and foremost, is seeing God’s people absolutely captivated by the Gospel—the unspeakably good news about God’s grace shown to mankind through the substitutionary death of his Son, Jesus. His desire is to see the people of Lamar so in awe of what God has done for them in Jesus, that they cannot help but speak about it with others.
Ryan received a Bachelor of Music from TCU, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary, and is currently finishing up a Ph.D. in theology at Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City. In his spare time, he loves exploring with his sons and daughters (Jacob, Martin, Joanna, and May), reading, and playing a bit of jazz trumpet!
