Missions

Missions

At Lamar, we desire to know Christ and to be His light to all nations and all generations. This means that we want to follow the Lord Jesus Christ’s command to effectively minister to people of all nations, whether they live right here in our community, across the world and anywhere in between.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST MISSION EFFORTS

In 1925, the Southern Baptist Convention established the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program – CP Missions – enables all Southern Baptists to work together to support missions efforts world-wide.

Through the International Mission Board, Southern Baptists support 4,946 missionaries in 153 different countries. Your gifts and prayers resulted in 451,000 new believers baptized in 2000 outside of North America.

Southern Baptist’s support of CP Missions allowed the North American Mission Board to send out 5,081 missionaries in 2008 and help start over 1,700 new churches. Approximately 415,000 people were baptized in 2008 as a result of individual Southern Baptists becoming Partners in the Harvest.

Learn more about the missions efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention by visiting the individual mission organization websites, and check out the brief video below that explains the Cooperative Program.

LAMAR’S PARTNERSHIPS

Outside of our combined efforts with the Cooperative Program, we also have multiple ongoing strategic missions efforts all over the world. A few examples include Monterrey Mexico, Ecuador, Uganda, Latvia, China, and Myanmar. We are seeking to leverage more and more of our time and resources for gospel impact not only here in North Arlington, but all over the world.
