What to expect Sunday Morning:
Children’s Church
Our Children’s Church for 1st thru 5th grade meets during the 9:30 AM service on Sunday mornings. This time is when we take a deep dive into Scripture by reading Bible stories through dramatic play, science experiments, scavenger hunts, and more! If you would like your children to join us (this is for all ages!), check them in to the Kids Welcome Desk before the service starts and keep them with you during the first part of the service. Kids will be dismissed before the sermon to go to Children’s Church.
KIDBOP
While our elementary kids head to Children’s Church, ages 4-K head across the hall for KIDBOP! This time is dedicated for a large group lesson targeted specifically toward their age development. You can expect a lot more movin’ and groovin’ to this church lesson time! Please check your kids in at the Welcome Desk before you and your family head to the Worship Service that begins at 9:30am. We will pick your kid up from you in service!
HOPPERBOP
There’s one word we never use in Lamar Kids Ministry – and that’s CHILDCARE. All the way down to our babies, every classroom teacher understands that learning about God is vital to a child’s spiritual development in every life stage. So we do not watch children: we minister to children!
So, for our 2s and 3s, we have a fun program for them called HOPPERBOP. This programs begins at 9:30am and ends with a transition to the Sunday school hour. This time is filled with play, music, dance, and active learning!
For our 3 and under, you will bring them directly to their classroom once you check them at the Welcome Desk unless you’d prefer to keep them with you for the duration of the Worship Hour.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School hour starts at 10:45 AM and pickup is at 11:45 AM. This transition is made by our Sunday school teachers picking up their kids from their first-hour program. During this time, children of all ages will march straight into God’s Word and discover never-ending truths to face their own modern-day Goliaths. Come explore the Bible through fun games, drama, and well-trained teachers!
Come as You Are (Special Needs Ministry)
When Jesus says in Mark 10 to “Let the little children come to me and not hinder them,” we believe he meant
Every. Single. One.
In Lamar Kids Ministry, it is our responsibility to not create obstacles for children to know Christ. That is why we welcome families of ALL backgrounds and ALL needs, including ones who may desire a more individualized approach. We work closely with parents to create a plan that help your entire family thrive. Our newly developed quiet spaces and devoted, trained volunteers are prepared to provide integrated or independent options – or a blend of the two – for your little one.
To expedite this process, we encourage families with a special needs child to fill out our Special Needs Intake Form, which you can download HERE, and email it to us or bring it Sunday morning. While it is a strictly voluntary form, it greatly prepares our Kids Ministry staff and select teachers to best support you and your family logistically and spiritually. Our goal is to create the safest, greatest environment for your kiddos so you can have a stress-free worship experience to get invested in the Word.
